Introduction: How to Get Rid of Mosquitos Like a PRO!

Last year when my mosquito net broke off a swarm of them marched into my house.They buzzed around when I study,eat,bath,sleep.One day I lost my mind and started smashing them with the newspaper, nothing much happened other than getting tired and killing 3 out of a 1000.I wanted to call the exterminator, but that costs me heck a lot time and money and importantly may effect my health too.I did many research on it but all I tried was either ineffective or should be done manually. So after some days I came with this idea which consists of house hold materials, which is effective , will do the job on its on, is easy to build, does not cost much. This project will help everyone who has Buzzzzzzzzy problemos

Step 1: Lets Do the Math

According to a research by the scientists at the university of California

Female mosquitoes, which can transmit deadly diseases like malaria and the West Nile Virus and now THE ZIKA, are attracted to potential hosts by "smelling" the carbon dioxide they exhale, according to a recent study.Carbon dioxide draws in the blood-sucking insects, making them capable of tracking people from a distance

According to another research mosquitoes are attracted to Black color

So the trap should consist of something that exhales carbon dioxide as well as traps it.

An easy and efficient reaction for the release of carbon dioxide is the fermentation of yeast (sugar +yeast + water = carbon dioxide)

And painting the trap black in colour will do the job

Step 2: Things to Use

  • 2 litre bottle (the one that you get when you buy a bottle of soda)
  • A glass of Hot water
  • 1/4 cup of brown sugar (use granulated sugar to make it)
  • And a Packet yeast

Step 3: Creating the Nightmare for Mosquito

Lets start making the nightmare for them

First off gather all the materials

Now,

  • Take the plastic bottle and cut it in half
  • Take the brown sugar and add it with the hot water
  • Wait for it to get cool
  • When it is cold pour it into the second half of the bottle(till its half)
  • Now add the yeast into the bottle
  • Do not mix the yeast
  • Now it creates the carbon dioxide, which attracts mosquitoes
  • Place the first part up side down into the second part
  • No need to tape it so that you can change it later
  • Wrap or paint the bottle with black

Now keep it in a place where you feel there is a lot of mosquitoes

Clean the trap when it is full

If you feel there is still mosquitoes and the trap is not working increase the quantity of materials
