Introduction: How to Make Apple Cider Chicken

About: I am a wife and a mother of two. I love reading, biking, kayaking and playing the recorder.

In this instructable, I will show you how to make Apple Cider Chicken.

Step 1: Ingredients

For this recipe you will need:

2 chicken breast

1/2 c apple cider

1/2 tsp oregano

2 tsp rosemary

1/2 tsp thyme

1 tsp salt, divided

1/2 tsp pepper divided

4 tsp olive oil divided

Step 2: Prepping the Chicken

Slice the chicken in half.

Step 3: Skillet Skills

Heat 2 tsp of olive oil in a large skillet over medium high heat.

Step 4: Seasoning

Season one side of the chicken breast with 1/2 tsp salt and 1/4 tsp pepper

Step 5: For Sizzle

Place the chicken in the skillet, seasoned side down, and cook for 5 minutes.

Step 6: Fruit Ninja Level

Depending on what size of apples you use, you are going to need about 3-6. Slice them into small slices.

I used 3 medium sized apples.

Step 7: Turn It Over

Flip the chicken over and cook for an additional 5 minutes.

Step 8: Keyword- Safety

Remove the chicken from the skillet and place on a plate.

Being SAFE, wipe the skillet with a paper towel. I used my handy tongs.

Step 9: Oil Up the Skillet Pt 2

Now pour in the remaining two tsp of olive oil.

Step 10: Everything Else's Turn

Once the oil is hot, add the apples and all of the seasonings. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring frequently.

Step 11: Apple Cider Time!

Add the chicken back to the skillet. Pour the apple cider over the chicken and cook for an additional 5 minutes.

Step 12: Enjoy!

Let me know what you think if you make this!

Except for the lateral cutting of each chicken breast, this looks easy and delicious. I just bought one of those giant packages of vacuum-packed chicken breasts, so I intend to try this soon. What kind of apples did you use? I live in apple country and have lots of options.

I used gala, but I believe most (I've never tried granny smith, though) would be okay.
