Introduction: How to Make Delicious Sweet Cinnamon Rolls

Supplies

For the dough:

1 cup warm milk (about 115 degrees F)

2 1/2 teaspoons instant dry yeast* (I like Red Star Platinum Baking Yeast)

2 large eggs at room temperature

1/3 cup salted butter** (Melted, but make sure it isn't over 110º Fahrenheit. Just softened is fine.)

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon salt

4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (divided)

For the filling:

1/2 cup salted butter (almost melted)

1 cup packed brown sugar

2 tablespoons cinnamon

1/2 cup heavy cream*** (for pouring over the risen rolls)

For the frosting:

6 ounces cream cheese (softened)

1/3 cup salted butter (softened)

2 cups powdered sugar

1/2 tablespoon maple extract (or vanilla)

Step 1:

Gather all of the needed ingredients and supplies.

Step 2: Preheat Your Oven

The first step is to preheat your oven to 375°and grease your pan.

Step 3: Get Started on the Dough

Pour the warm milk in a bowl of a stand mixer and sprinkle the yeast overtop. Next add the eggs, butter and sugar and mix until combined. Add in salt and 4 cups of flour (save the other ½ cup and add only if you need it!). Use the beater blade to mix until your ingredients are barely combined. Allow the mixture to rest for 5 minutes so the flour has time to soak up the liquids.

Step 4: Swap the Beater Blade for the Dough Hook

Mix the dough on medium speed for 5-7 minutes and add in the ½ cup flour if needed to form a dough.

Step 5: Transfer Bowls

Spray a large bowl with cooking spray.

Rremove the dough from the mixing bowl and place it in the greased large bowl. Cover the bowl with a towel or wax paper. Set the bowl in a warm place and allow the dough to rise until double. Set aside for 30 minutes.

Step 6: Make the Cinnamon Filling

In a bowl combine the soft butter, brown sugar and cinnamon. Mix until well combined and then set aside.

Step 7: Roll Out the Dough

After the dough rises sprinkle your counter with a small amount of flour and begin rolling out your dough into a large rectangle shape.

Step 8: Spread Your Filling and Roll!

Spread the cinnamon filling over the whole dough rectangle. After that starting on the long end, and roll the dough up.

Step 9: Cut the Dough Up

Cut the dough to what ever size you want. Then place them in a baking dish and cover the dish for 20 minutes to allow the dough to rise.

Step 10: Pour the Heavy Cream Ontop & Bake

Warm up the heavy cream and pour ontop of your dough. Then put them in the oven for 22 minutes. The time may very depending on the size of your rolls, so check them after 20 minutes.

Step 11: Make the Frosting

In a large bowl, using a hand mizer, mix the softened cream cheese and butter. Add in the vanilla extract and the powdered sugar and mix. Let the rolls cool and pour ontop.

Step 12: Enjoy Your Freshly Made Cinnamon Rolls!
