Introduction: How to Make Flourless Chocolate Cake

About: Just an 11-year old who enjoys fishing, baking and making.

A few years ago, I discovered my family's favorite cake and quite possibly our favorite dessert, it is ... flourless chocolate cake. The word "flourless" is scorned upon by many bakers such as myself but that does not mean that I don't love this cake. Many flourless cakes are not truly flourless, they nearly use other types of flour instead of wheat flour. This cake is completely different than those cakes, instead of trying to use complicated flours it uses simple but delicious ingredients. If you enjoy my instructable then please vote for it. (click the button in the right-hand corner to vote!) without further ado, here's how to make 4 ingredient flourless cake!

Step 1: Ingredients and Materials

Ingredients

1. 6 eggs

2. 1 1/4 cups chocolate

3. 2 sticks butter

4. 3/4 cups sugar

Materials

1. A whisk

2. Some sort of mixer, I'm going to put the things you can use from best to worse, stand mixer, hand mixer, whisk (if you use a whisk you can reuse the one above.)

3. A spatula

4. A pot

5. 2 bowls

6. A 10-inch springform pan (not in the picture above)

Step 2: Melt Butter and Chocolate

First, preheat your oven to 350 f. Melt 1 cup of your chocolate and 2 sticks of butter in one of your bowls ( either in a microwave or a bain-marie, if you don't have a microwave and you do not know what a bain-marie is, look here. (http://www.wikihow.com/Make-a-Double-Boiler-(Bain-Marie) you just want to do the first type of bain-marie.) after you finish melting your chocolate when it looks like the second picture above let it cool for a few minutes.

Step 3: Add Sugar and Egg Yolks

After your chocolate mixture has sat for a few minutes add your sugar, wait for a few more minutes, then add in your egg yolks and whisk until they are well combined.(When they are well combined it should look like the picture above.)

Step 4: Whip Up Your Whites

Now, whip up all of your egg whites into stiff peaks.

Step 5: Mix

Now, with your spatula gently fold your chocolate mixture into your whipped egg whites until they are well mixed.

Step 6: Prep for Baking

now pour your mixture into your greased springform cake tin and sprinkle your remaining 1/4 cup of chocolate over your mix, this will make an extra chocolaty bottom. Bake for 35 minutes.

Step 7: Enjoy

This cake is best served cold with a glass of milk or a scoop of ice cream. If you enjoyed my instructable then please vote for it. (To vote, click the button in the right-hand corner.)
