By; Jasmine Holman

Hello, I see that you are interested to know how to make your own shotglasses, well you have come to the right place. I first started off making dipped shotglasses but I then wanted to make my own so I could start selling them. So, today I am going to walk you through on how to make your own shotglasses. So on your mark get ready set go!

Supplies

The first thing you going to want to do is gather your material and make sure that you are in a well ventilated area, opening up a few windows helps as well.

Materials you will need;

-Resin(epoxy)

-Resin Hardener

-Popsicle Sticks

-Shotglass Molds

-2 Paper Cups

-Something for Measuring

-Puduo(color for resin)

-Gloves

-Wax Paper(or something to cover your work area)

-A Flat Surface

Note; You want to be in a well ventilated area because the resin and hardener makes a very strong chemical smell. When breathed in for to long it can cause chest pain and depending on how much you use shortness of breath. Most people prepare resin outside or with a mask, but I just open the windows while preparing my shotglasses. Then after about 4 or 5 hours I will close the window because the smell is about gone.

Step 1: Measuring the Resin

Once you have opened window or gotten into a well ventilated area you are going to put on your gloves and being measuring the resin and resin hardener. You want to make sure you measure correctly and have the same amount of both resin and hardener, if not your shotglass will not form correctly. Measure 4 oz. of both the resin and hardener it is best to start off with a small amount when your a beginner.

Step 2: Pouring the Resin & Hardener

Now pour both the resin and resin hardener in the same cup and mix thoroughly for 3 minutes.

Note; 1st picture is resin 2nd picture is resin hardener. Stirring for 3 minutes makes sure that they are evenly mixed and distributed to form correctly.

Step 3: Pour Into 2 Cup

Once you have mixed your resin and hardener in your first cup for 3 minutes you are then going to pour that mix into your 2nd cup and mix for an additional minute.

Side Note; Make sure to scrape the sides of the cup when mixing this time. Pouring the mix in a second cup just allows for the mixture to mix even more when pouring, because it is all combined together.

Step 4: Adding Puduo

Now lets add some Puduo. I choose rose red but feel free to choose whatever color you desire or no color at all. Add about 7 drops of Puduo into the mixture. After adding the color be sure to mix thoroughly so the color will be even all over.

Side Note; Notice how shiny my hands are these are the results from not using gloves. Once Resin gets on your skin it immediately starts hardening and becomes sticky. You have to continuously wash your hands and scrub them in order to get some of it off and so your fingers will not stick together. Also notice the blue spot on my thumb that is Puduo so as you see it stains. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE if you do not pay attention to anything else PLEASE wear gloves to protect yourself.

Step 5: Time for the Molds

Now pour your mix into your shotglass molds immediately. Be sure that you fill the molds to the top for an even bottom shotglass.

Side Note; Do not wait or waste time pour the mixture into the molds. The mixture is going to start heating up and forming so its best not to wait.

Step 6: WAIT!!!!!!

Wait for 24 hours and DO NOT move or touch the molds. Doing so is going to cause colors to mix, whoop sided shotglasses, or they are not going to cure all the way. Then that is time and money wasted.

Step 7: Times Up... Yaaaaaay!!!!

After 24 hours it is time to remove your shotglasses from the molds. Simply push the molds upwards and pull the shotglasses off the molds and there you have it your own shotglasses.

Side Note; shotglass molds and Puduo can be found on Amazon, other materials can be found at Hobby Lobby
