How to Make Your Own Stele (mortal Instruments)

A stelee is a device used in the mortal instruments series to tattoo tunes onto ones flesh, each one helping them in some way, this is perfect for a cosplay convention or just an accessory, it also provides functionality.

Step 1: You Will Need

-A glue gun
-a pen of your choice (whatever is good on skin)
-Silver paint
-Permanent markers
-Clear nail polish

Step 2: Step One

Fist you have to find a suitable pen, you need to ensure that it is good for writing on skin as that shall be the whole purpose of it

Step 3: Step Two

Cover the pens cap in tape, as for this step you will need to ensure it’s still openable and useable as a pen by the end

Step 4: Step Three

Looking at the sample images, coat the pen in glue from the glue gun, trying to replicate one of the designs but leaving out the cap of the pen

Step 5: Step 4

Now that you’ve created the base work of your stele it’s time to go about painting, it doesn’t matter so much the type of paint that you use, however overall I found that model paints worked a charm

Step 6: Step Five

Now, you need to find a sharp knife and some possible rune ideas here, and then attempt to carve these into your stele

Step 7: Step 6

Now you’re mostly done it’s just time to add some finishing touches, so you’ll need to take the nail polish and give it a coat all over except for the cap, this will stop the paint from rubbing off on your hands when you use it
