How to Make Your Rubik's Cube a Lot More Interesting

Introduction: How to Make Your Rubik's Cube a Lot More Interesting

About: Hi! I'm Isaac. I'm a 16 year old maker can't keep my hands still. I aspire to show all other young people out there that you can be a great maker, no matter how old you are.

Let's do a mod (modification) on our cube.

Below I list what you will need.

Step 1: How to Make Your Rubik`s Cube a Lot More Interesting

Is your Rubik`s cube getting easy to solve?

Let's do a simple mod (modification) on it, called the Siamese Cube. Below are the materials you'll need.

Step 2: What You`ll Need

You will need:

A strong glue, I used Gorilla Glue.

You will also need two 3x3 puzzle cubes, I recommend the Qiyi sail as it is very bright and easy to mod.

Buy the Qiyi cubes here:

You may also use a screwdriver to take out some parts (we'll do that later)

Step 3: Take Out Some Pieces

Take out the pieces shown in the picture.

DON'T take all of them out.

Step 4: Taking Off the Stickers

turn around the cube and peel off the stickers shown in the picture.

Step 5: Do It Again

Repeat steps 2-3.

Step 6: Align the 2 Cubes

Align both of the cubes, and get ready to glue them.

Step 7: Gluing the Cubes

Glue the cubes on the red line

I have shown in the picture.

Step 8: Enjoy!

Enjoy your new, improved, Siamese Cube!

Thanks for reading my first instructable! Wish me luck in the contest!

    Question 4 years ago

how the heck do you turn these cubes??

    P.S. This is awesome!

    Answer 4 years ago

It's kinda hard to explain. I put a link to a video tutorial at the end so you can see it in action.

Yeah, I watched it. That is weird. But, still awesome dude! Nice job! I might do this, but I can't even solve a normal Rubix cube...

This is so cool! I've always wanted to do something like this with my cubes but I've never made the jump. Do you feel it makes the cube harder to solve or is it more like two easier to solve halves?

    It's a bit harder.
It drove me nuts for hours!
The cubes stuck together means that you have fewer ways to turn the cube,
meaning you have to solve it a different way.
You do both of the cubes separately.
It's worth it to do the mod though. you blow everyone's minds. :)
