In this instructable you will be learning how to make a wooden pickaxe in Minecraft.

Supplies

For this instructable you will need any version of minecraft on either the PC or any gaming console.

Step 1: Get the Wood

The first step is easy. All you have to do is find a tree, start punching it until it breaks, and collect the wood that you just found.

Step 2: Convert Wood Logs Into Wooden Planks

After you received the logs from breaking them you are going to want to go into your inventory. This can be a different control depending on what device you are on, but for Xbox it is the Y button. Once in the inventory you put your logs into the crafting area in the top right and craft them into planks.

Step 3: Make a Crafting Table

Now that you have your planks, you need to make a crafting table. To do this you take your planks and in the crafting area of your inventory you put one in each of the four squares and then you craft your crafting table.

Step 4: Make Sticks

Even though you can do this without a crafting table, to make sticks go into the crafting table and place one wooden plank on top of another and craft your sticks.

Step 5: Craft Your Wooden Pickaxe

To craft your wooden pickaxe you need three wooden planks and two sticks. As you see in the picture at the very top of the crafting table you place three wooden planks in a row and sprouting down from those in the middle you place two sticks. Now you can craft your wooden pickaxe and go mine stone.
