Introduction: How to Wash Your Hands

Washing your hands is the best way to prevent the spread of germs that carry diseases that can cause sicknesses like the flu. Hand washing should be done immediately before eating, after using the restroom or touching things that others have touched. Germs spread fast.

Materials:

Warm running water

Anti Bacterial hand soap

Paper Towels inside a dispenser

Step 1: RINSE

Rinsing your hands is the first step in hand washing. Your hands should be wet so that the soap can lather. Hand washing helps prevent the spread of germs.

Step 2: LATHER

Lathering your hands with soap is the second step. This step should take 20 seconds. Be sure to scrub your hands, under fingernails and up your wrist.

Step 3: RINSE

Once your have lathered the soap on your hands you will rinse the soap off. Be sure to rinse all of the soap off.

Step 4: DRY

The final step is to dry your hands completely. You should use a paper towel to dry your hands. Also do not touch the knobs of the faucet with your bare hands. Using a paper towel to turn the faucet off will help keep your hands cleaner. This way prevents someone from touching more germs.

Step 5: LOTION

Depending how often you wash your hands, you may experience very dry skin. To prevent your skin from cracking you should lotion your hands after washing. The lotion should be unscented to help keep perfumes from getting in your skin if there are any cracks.
