Introduction: Jalebi Recipe

Jalebi with its crispness and unique coiled shape has made it a mouthwatering dessert . After eating it you will forget the proverb "Sharing is caring" as it is very delicious.So let's start making it.


For making jalebi you will need:-

1) 250 gram:- Flour

2) 50 gram:-dehuskd black gram lentils(Urad dal)

3) Food colour:-orange colour

For making sugar syrup you will need:-

1) 2 cup:-sugar

2) 1 cup:- water

extra essential items:-

1) pointed bottle(to make coiled shape of jalebi) or a bottle with a hole in the cap

2) curd(just for serving can be eaten without it)

3) Refined oil

Step 1: Preparing the Batter (part 1)

Take a bowl put urad dal (dehusked black gram lentils) and then add water about 1/2 cup leave it for about half an hour to soak .After soaking grind it in mixer grinder untill it becomes liquid like.

Step 2: Preparing the Batter(Part-2)

Add the mixture in flour and mix it well with hand mixture or spoon untill it becomes semi liquid.and leave the batter for about 8 to 10 hours to ferment.

tip:-it is important to leave it for at least 8 hours otherwise the mixture will not form accurately.

Step 3: Adding Food Colour

after 8 hours of fermentation add orange food colour(a pinch of it is enough) to give our batter orange colour and stir it well.

Step 4: Preparing Sugar Syrup

To prepare sugar syrup add 1 cup water to 2 cup sugar and let it boil on medium flame for 15 to 20 minutes. Turn off the flame before the syrup get's thick but the sugar should dissolve completely.

tip:-the syrup should be sticky when rubbed with fingers

Step 5: Preparing the Jalebi's

To begin making jalebi's take a kadai (frying pan) put refined oil and let it boil for 3 to 4 minutes on medium flame.take the prepared batter and put it a pointed bottle (or you can also use any bottle with a small hole in the cap) and start making the small coiled shape in oil.once you have made the jalebi's take it out with the help of slotted ladle rinse of the oil and put it directly in sugar syrup leave the jalebi's in it for 5 minutes so that sugar syrup enter in jalebi's.

Step 6: Ready to Serve Delicious Jalebi's

Take out the jalebi's from syrup and place it in a plate and serve it with the curd(it is optional).the sweat jalebi's are ready to cherish your mind .
