Introduction: Katten Jansson Cake

About: Mother of two small children. Create stuff is a nice way to get the stress of my shoulders
My three year old daughter loves a Swedish cartoon character called Katten Jansson( Jansson the cat), he is a sidekick in a beloved cartoon called Bamse, the worlds strongest bear .
My daughter has a t-shirt that is black where you can only see the ears/eyes and nose which gave the inspiration to this cake.

This is a very simple design, but I still looks good and the kids will love it!

Step 1: Ingredients

Tart case ( 3 layers)
Nougat mousse*
raspberry jam(about 400 g)
5 dl whipped cream

black marzipan
white marzipan
yellow and red food color

* Heat 3 dl of whipped cream, make sure it don't boil. Add 150 g of nougat and let it melt in the cream. Let the mixture cool at least 6 hours in refrigerator before whipping.

Step 2: Construction of Cake

Start by putting one tart case on a cake form and add the raspberry jam.
Add another layer of tart case and add the whipped nougat mousse. Add the third and last tart case and then cover the cake with whipped cream (also the sides).

Tuck the black marzipan to a thin layer(around 2 mm thick) and put it on top of the cake.

My cake stand made it hard to put the marzipan all the way down on the sides...

Step 3: Decorate

I have stenciled the face of the cat onto a paper and then I start to cut out all white parts; ears and mouth. Put them on the cake and put the stencil over, to see that the placement is correct.
Color a piece of white marzipan with red color to make the pink nose and then color the yellow eyes and cut them out as well. I then made a little black pupil for each eye, as well as a little white "half moon" shape to make the glitter in the eye.

I added little green marzipan letters with the name of my daughter and the cake was a huge success!
