Introduction: Kickin' Chicken Thighs and Basmati Rice

In this instructable, I will show you how to make Kickin' Chicken Thighs with Basmati Rice.'

Step 1: Ingredients

For this recipe, you will need:

8 bone-in chicken thighs, skinned

1 1/2 c water

1 tbsp parsley

2 tsp chili powder

1 tbsp butter

1/2 tsp paprika

1/2 tsp black pepper

1 c uncooked basmati rice

1/2 tsp cayenne pepper

1/4 tsp crushed red pepper

2 tbsp brown sugar

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp ground cumin

2 garlic cloves

1/4 tsp salt

1/4 tsp salt

Step 2: Let the Cooking Come Mince!

Mince the garlic.

Step 3: In a Medium Saucepan..

On medium-high heat, melt the butter and saute the garlic for about a minute.

Step 4: Bring in Rice

Add the rice and cook for about half a minute while stirring constantly.

Step 5: Still Forgetting About the Chicken for a Minute.

Add the water and 1/4 tsp salt to the rice, stir until combined and cover.

Lower the temperature and simmer for about 12 minutes until the water is absorbed.

Step 6: Grab Almost Everything Else.

All the seasonings except for the parsley and black pepper need to be mixed together now.

Step 7: Now It's Chicken Time!

Place the chicken on a baking tray lined with aluminum foil and sprinkle 1/2 the seasonings over the pieces.

Place in an oven that's had the broiler preheated to high and cook for 6 minutes.

Step 8: Flip the Chicken!

Now, flip all the chicken over and sprinkle the rest of the seasonings over the pieces and cook for an additional 6 minutes or until done.

Step 9: Almost Finished!

Stir the parsley and black pepper in the rice. Place the rice aside until the chicken is finished.

Step 10: Be Careful, It's Hot!

Remove the chicken from the oven, placing the pieces on a plate and letting it rest a few minutes.

Do not discard the juices in the pan.

Step 11: Drizzle...mmm...mmm..

Drizzle some of the juices over the chicken and rice before serving.

Step 12: Enjoy!
