MAKING HATS 101

Intro

Step 1: Step 1

Lay Your fabric out on the table.

Step 2: Step 2

Measure 11 inches up and 23 inches across and mark with your marking tool. (Make sure the long sideg goes with the grain.)

Step 3: Step 3

cut out the fabric.

Step 4: Step 4

lay out fabric, fold in half twice in the same direction

Step 5: Step 5

print template and pin to the fabric.

Cut out around the TOP of the template

Step 7: Step 7

Take off the pins and unfold

Step 8: Step 8

Fold in half and pin the outsides.

Step 9: Step 9

Sew along both sides

Step 10: Step 10

fold hat so that the remaining two sides meet and then pin

Step 11: Step 11

sew the sides you just pined

Step 12: Step 12

Trim the remaining thread

Step 13: Step 13

fold an inch lip around the bottom

Step 14: Step 14

pin the lip you folded

Step 15: Step 15

sew the lip 3/8 from the bottom.

Step 16: Step 16

wear your hat, and look awesome!! ;) :) :0

On step 9 and 11, how far in did you sew from the cut edge?
