Here is a fun project that I had to make because I love Magic: the Gathering. Even if you don't like Magic, you can just use your own designs to do the same thing.

Materials needed:

  • Paper
  • Cardboard
  • Scissors
  • Magic: the Gathering mana cards (optional)
  • Pencil
  • Markers
  • Hot glue
  • Transparent paper
  • Ruler

Step 1: Drawing (or Printing) the Images

First step is to draw the designs that you are going to do. I am doing mana symbols for mine and I grabbed some of my mana cards to draw the symbols. I am not including the template for it, as I did not use one and was not printing mine. If you want to print out the mana symbols, just search Magic: the Gathering mana symbols in the search bar. I cut out five 7 cm squares for my pictures.

Step 2: Cutting Out the Pictures

Now tape your picture onto a piece of cardboard and cut it out.

Step 3: Coloring the Transparent Paper

Now cut out squares of the transparent paper to your liking and then color them in. Then, glue them to the back of your picture square.

Step 4: Putting It Together

Now just glue all of your picture squares together as a pentagon. And now your Magic: the Gathering lamp is finished! You can also put a piece of cardboard on top as then you will not see the light inside.
