Introduction: Microwave Chocolate Cake
How to make a quick and tasty cake.
Step 1: Ingredients
- 4 Tablespoons self raising flour
- 4 Tablespoons sugar
- 2 Tablespoons of cocoa
- 4 Tablespoons milk
- 3 Tablespoons oil
- 1 Egg
Step 2: Mix All Dry Ingredients
Mix the dry ingredients flour, sugar, cocoa
Step 3: Stir in Wet Ingredients
Stir in the egg, milk and oil.
Step 4: Microwave
Microwave 850 watt for 2.30 minutes. You can test if your cake is baked by sticking a fork in the middle and when pulled out it is dry. Then you can melt some chocolate over it like I did or eat it straight out of the bowl.

I mixed some cocoa and marshmallows with powdered sugar and milk and melted it in the microwave, then poured out over the cake and froze. Amazing little summer treat. Everything was delicious and great recipe!

I made this last night for my wife. It tasted ok a bit dense but that might have been me doing 20 seconds too long! Wife liked it but said it was like a really chocolaty blancmange. Who cares, it is really simple to make and does taste good. Thanks for sharing :o)

I made this and it was great! Came out perfect. If you don't have self rising flour then mix: 3/4 cup regular flour, 1 teaspoon Baking Powder, 1/4 teaspoon salt and mix well. Measure out the 4 Tablespoons needed for this recipe. (save the rest for another time). Beat the egg well before adding to the mix. For a richer flavor use 1 Tablespoon Dark cocoa and 1 Tablespoon regular cocoa. Loosen the sides after baking, cool slightly and invert on a dish lightly dusted with cocoa. Frost. Enough for 2 but why share?

Perhaps a wee bit of vanilla extract would enhance the flavor of the cake, no?

I make something very similar to this with self raising gluten free flour and Lactofree milk for a gluten and lactose free version. You have to add a little more milk to keep it moist but it works well.

I used to be able to buy these from the shops... I always wondered why they weren't for sale anymore. I'll have to try this out and see if it tastes as good as the old ones!! thanks for the instructable.
