Pumpkins as we all know are a great source of nutrition holding a wide spectrum of vitamins, minerals and other essentials.
making crisps makes it even more appetizing. However frying would reduce the nutritional values and moreover requires a lot more time. With this microwave recipe you can make HEALTHY CRISPS within minutes.
These tasty and nutritious snack crisps out of pumpkins are loved by all.
Step 1: All You Need Is
A Pumpkin( fleshy ones with more dry content preferred, like Hokkaido, Buttersquash, Hubbard)
seasoning: salt.
Tools.
Microwave
veg- mandolin
knife
parchment paper
microwave safe dish
Step 2: Let's Begin
Peel the pumpkin.
Cut into thin slices using a vegetable mandolin, if no mandolin available slice as thin as you can with a sharp knife.
Place the cut slices on an absorbent kitchen paper to suck out moisture, for a minute or 2.
Take a microwave-safe dish, place a piece of parchment paper on it.
Arrange the cut slices on the plate- not overlapping each other.
Sprinkle seasoning.
Step 3: Microwave
Microwave the plate at a high for 1.50 min. Flip the slices and rearrange ( center ones outside and vice versa) since heart is concentrated in the center..
Microwave for another minute.
Remove the plate and wait for it to cool.
Once cool they should turn crisp.
(in case you have cut them a little thicker it will take a little longer. in that case microwave for another minute or half till crisp.)
ENJOY YOUR HEALTHY SNACK!

I don't have a dehydrator either, so I may try your microwave chips.

I LOVE this idea but I would definitely put them in a food dehydrator which preserves the vitamin/ mineral content. The microwave tends to render most foods nearly worthless nutritionally. Yum, and good luck!
