Introduction: Model of the Middle of the World (La Ciudad Mitad Del Mundo) on TinkerCad

The project is a model based on the Middle of the World monument located in Ecuador, Quito. I made it because it was a class project about having to do something that represents Ecuador, so I chose this monument to represent it because it is very interesting and touristic. In order to make the model, first I look for a photo on the Internet of the Middle of the World, to guide me. Then I did some tutorials to know how to use the Tinkercad tools and to feel prepare the moment I have to create the model. When I already knew how to use the tools, I started working. While I was working on the model, I felt excited because it was entertaining to do it. Also I felt happy because it was fun to use different shapes and colors in order to create the model.

Step 1: Make the Base of the Monument

To make the base of the model I had to make the center and the exteriors. So, first to make the base center, I used the cube shape and gave it a brown color. Later I used the cube shape again, but this time I modified the shape making it flatter and gave it a beige color. Then I put it on top of the previous shape. When I made the center, I started to do the exteriors that surround it. To make the exteriors I first used the wedge or roof shape, I put the shape twice in the middle of each side of the cubes that are the center, and gave them brown color. To properly position the shapes on each side, I had to rotate them. Then, to continue making the exteriors of the base, I used the cube shape four times, placing it next to or near the wedge shapes. Then, on top of the four cubes in the center, I put a small, flat, beige cube. Then I put a brown cube on it and on top I put a small, flat, beige cube. To finish the base, I put in the spaces between the cubes and the wedge shapes, the voronoi shape and gave it an orange color.

Step 2: Create the Height of the Monument

To create the height of the monument I first selected the polygon shape. Then I carefully placed the shape above the center of the base and gave it a brown color to match the base colors.

Step 3: Make the Top of the Monument

To make the top of the monument, I first used the cube shape, I put it above the height and gave it a brown color. Later I used the cube shape again, I put it on the top of the previous cube and gave it a brown color, only this time I made the cube a little smaller. Lastly, I used the sphere shape to make my model look like the true monument of the Middle of the World, I put the sphere on top of the cubes and gave it a gray color.

Step 4: Put a Background Around the Monument

To put a background around the monument, I first decorated the ground with the terrain shape to make it look like grass. Later I put the sunflower shape on the ground twice to make them look like flowers, I gave one shape a yellow color and the other a pink color. Then I put the spinner shape on the ground twice to make it look like plants, and I gave them both a dark green color. To finish the background I added the tree shape and made it light green.
