Introduction: Molten Chocolate Lava Cake

These adorable molten chocolate lava cakes are perfect for any occasion! They are decadent and just melt in your mouth with a lovely gooey chocolate stick around to find out how to make these! :)

Step 1: How to Make Molten Chocolate Lava Cakes <3


-5 oz semi-sweet or dark chocolate

-1 stick unsalted butter

-1/2 cup granulated sugar

-1/2 tsp vanilla

-1/3 cup cake flour/all-purpose flour

-1/4 tsp salt


  1. Preheat oven to 400F.
  2. Melt the chocolate and butter together in a microwaveable bowl in the microwave at 15 second intervals. Stir after every 15 seconds until melted. Stir to evenly mix the butter and chocolate.
  3. Add sugar, eggs, and vanilla into chocolate butter mixture and whisk to combine.
  4. Sift flour and salt into chocolate mixture.
  5. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients with a spatula. Fold until flour has been moistened but don't over mix the batter or else your cake will become dense. It's ok to have lumps in the batter.
  6. Spray a cupcake tin or ramekins (either is fine, I used a cupcake tin) with some non-stick cooking spray.
  7. Use an ice cream scoop to fill the tin/ramekin. Fill 3/4 way.
  8. Bake at 400F for 10-12 minutes.
  9. Serve warm with a dusting of powdered sugar
