This is a great wall fixture that can serve many different purposes.

As you can see from the main image, you can hang artwork, clothing, etc.; clamp lamps, etc.

There are 2x4 pieces hanging from the fixture that can be re-positioned as you see fit.

These 2x4 pieces have different angle brackets and hooks attached to them. The 2x4 with the long angle bracket can be used to support a shelf when used with another 2x4 with the long angle bracket.

You can cut main backboard the length you require and go from there.

Tools:

Power Drill: pre-drilling holes for the screws and screwing pieces in place
Drill bits Set: drilling holes
Level: for horizontal/vertical aligning
Electric Saw: cutting the plywood and 2x4 pieces
Measuring Tape: measuring the length and width of the backboard and the 2x4 pieces
Pencil/Marker: marking cut lines and where the holes will be made
Electric Sander: smoothing out the surfaces of the plywood and 2x4 pieces
Stud Finder: you don't want to attach the backboard just on the drywall itself

Supplies:

Assuming we are making 4 2x4 pieces:

2 2x4x8 studs
1 4x8 sheet of 3/4" plywood
Large flat-head phillips-drive screws (10-Pack): for screwing the backboard onto your wall, you need big screws. Make sure to drill into the wall studs and not the drywall
25-pack 1" Pan Head Phillips-Drive Sheet Metal Gutter Screws: attach the different metal pieces
4 Large angle bracket rods with a built-in screw for attaching into the 2x4 pieces
4 Simpson strong-tie 12-gauge angle: used to hold the 2x4 pieces against the backboard
4 2x4 Deck Post Tie: to re-enforce the strong-tie 12-gauge angle in place
Assortment of turnbuckle hook and eye, eye bolts, etc.

Directions:

1. Measure the length and width of your backboard and cut the plywood

2. Measure the length of your backboard and cut a 2x4 to that length

3. Attach the 2x4 to the wall

4. Attach the backboard to the 2x4 leaving 4" of dead space at the very top. This is necessary to allow clamps and the 2x4 pieces to hang from

5. Cut the 2x4 pieces

6. For each 2x4 piece, attach the strong-tie 12-gauge angle onto it leaving room for the 3/4" plywood. Wrap the strong-tie with the 2x4 deck post tie to support it. Attach the Large angle bracket rods and the eye bolts according to the image
