I refurbished this pub table from an old dresser. It was a very fun project and will serve my daughter for many years to come. Only cost me $50 in all!

Step 1: Old Dresser to Pub Table

My daughter bought an old house with a very small dining room. She wanted a small pub table but her budget was even smaller than the table she wanted. I decided to make use of an old dresser that had been given to us years ago from my husband's uncle. It had lots of character and was in pretty good shape except for the veneered drawers. I gave the mice their eviction notices and got started.

Step 2: Clean Up

Once I cleaned it up, I decided to keep the top smaller drawers. I removed the old vaneer and added oak plywood to the front. I gave the whole thing a good sanding and was ready for the paint.

Step 3: Paint

I decided to use a soft gray paint for the sides, front and back. I left the top unpainted since I was going to add a top. For the shelves I used pre-glued pine boards. I stained them golden oak and use minwax rub on varnish (love it!!).

Step 4: Almost Done!

I used the another sheet of pre-glued pine board for the top and stained with the golden oak and 10 coats of the rub on varnish. Added new drawer pulls and also added casters for added height and for mobility.
