Today we're gonna be painting and then basing some miniatures from a tabletop game.

Items required for painting and basing miniatures:

Miniatures
Assorted paints
Spray paint primer (black or white)
Gloss enamel primer
Set of hobby brushes
Spruce Cutter
Set of Needle Files
Hobby Turf Grass
Hobby rocks
Paper Towels
Small container to hold water
modeling paste
super glue
Elmer's glue
cardboard

Step 1: Removing Excess Metal

Using the Spruce Cutters remove any extra metal hanging off the miniature and if needed use the needle files to remove anything too small for the cutters

Step 2: Clean Miniatures

Give the miniatures a quick wash to remove any oils or dirt leftover from the manufacturing process

Step 3: Spray Miniatures With Primer

Give each miniature a coat of primer, if needed give it time to dry before flipping if there was an area that could not be reached the first time. This base layer will make it easier for future paint to stick. White Primer usually helps the paints give a more vibrant feel while a black primer a darker tone. Make sure to do this in a well ventilated area and to keep the spray can pointed away from your body.

Step 4: Decide on a Color Scheme

Now would be a great time to decide on the paint scheme you'll be going for. Usually you can find a guide in the reference book related to the miniatures for one or two ways to color, although there are times when it is encouraged that you come up with your own to better customize and make the experience personal.

Step 5: Paint Base Colors

Apply the base colors, that is usually one or two colors that make up the majority of the miniature. If necessary give time in-between each color to allow the last coat to dry

Step 6: Paint Finer Details

Paint any miscellaneous details such as weapons, skin, and any other objects. If any mistake is made you can easily paint back with the base color.

Step 7: Apply Glossy Enamel

Repeat step similar to spraying with base primer but this time with a glossy enamel. This gives a protective layer to keep painting from chipping from use.

Step 8: Glue Miniatures to Base

Using some super glue glue the miniatures to the base (usually supplied along with miniatures). Make sure to get sufficient time to stick. There are special sprays that help quicken the super glue solidifying process if problems are encountered.

Step 9: Spread Modeling Paste

Using some modeling paste apply a small layer and allow time to completely dry. Once dry paint it an appropriate color to what you are aiming for, brown for an earthy feel or tan for sand.

Step 10: Add Extra Items

If desired you can add some grass or rocks. Apply a thin layer of Elmer's glue and spread around base, put the turf grass around and after giving some time to stick shake off any excess.
