Pallet Toolbox

When I installed insulation for my attic, four pallets came with the packaging. After the insulation project, I tried to make a use for these pallets. I find the boards on these pallets are not good in quality but are dry and light in weight. They could be good materials for making toolboxes to organize my tools which are littered in my garage.

Step 1: Materials and Tools

Pallets

2in X 2in wood lumber 8" long or any other wood which can make a handle

Pry Bar

Hammer

Saw

Clamps

Nails

Wood glue

And whatever tools for cutting and finishing wood boards. More tools are always better.

Step 2: Breaking the Pallets Apart

Use a pry bar and a hammer to remove the nails to break the pallets apart. Choose the best boards to use for the next step.

Step 3: Cutting Boards

The boards have dimensions of 7.5" in width, and 0.5" in height. The cutting is as the following: (for one toolbox)

16" Length x 6pcs for toolbox length side

8" Length x 7pcs for toolbox width side

7" Length x 4pcs for toolbox height side

11"Length x 2pcs for handle height side

and 8" length 2in x 2in lumber for handle.

Step 4: Assemble the Toolbox and Finishing

Assemble from bottom to top then to handle. I used both glue and nails.

Finishing the surface with a file or sand paper to remove splinters and sharp corners.

The toolboxes are strong and durable.
