Personalized Photo Frame

Make a special personalized frame for your loved one that represents who they really are!

Step 1: Get Your Materials

To make this heartfelt frame, you will need..

• a 10 x 12 inch picture frame
• a 12 x 12 inch sheet of scrapbook paper
• scissors
• tacky glue
• X-acto knife
• pencil
• white poster board
• chipboard letters
• hot glue gun
• 4 family photos (not shown but you'll get to see them in the end)
• decorations, such as stickers, ribbon, embellishments, rhinestones

Step 2: Assemble the Frame

First, carefully take out the glass and set it aside (or carefully discard it).

Step 3: Add Scrapbook Paper

Next, lay a sheet of scrapbook paper face down on your cutting mat. Then, place the frame back on top. Now, grab a pencil and measure out the sides of the back, and cut them out using your X-acto knife. Then, glue the paper down onto the surface of the backing and let dry.

Step 4: Make Window Pane

From there, measure and cut out two pieces of white poster board, with the widths measured at least 1.5" and assemble them on the scrapbook paper with glue to make a window pane for your photos. Make sure that each piece measures at least 1.5" in width and that the lengths are about half of an inch shorter than the frame's actual length. My pieces measure 9.5" inches and 11.5" inches.

Step 5: Add Photos

Now, cut out 4 photos printed from your computer and assemble them in each section of your window frame with glue. Let dry.

Step 6: Spell Out Name

Now, use your chipboard letters to spell out the recipient's first name and glue them across the horizontal section of your window pane. Remember, use smaller letters for longer first names, and larger letters of shorter first names.

Step 7: Decorate

Now, it's time to add that special touch to your frame by adding some fun embellishments. For example, here I added chipboard hearts to the vertical section of my window pane. Then, I cut hearts from cupcake picks and used hot glue to attach them to the corners of the frame, along with a few sea creatures for that golden touch. Any other embellishment will do for this project!

Then, once everything has dried, if you still have the glass, carefully place it back in the frame to keep the photos dust-free!

Step 8: Give and Display

Now, you can give it to your loved one and have it display it wherever they want to add that special touch to their space! I recently made this frame for my oldest sister's birthday gift! She's born in August, so adding those sea creatures to the frame gives off that cool summer touch to the frame!
