A personalized piece of room decor that takes little time to make.

Step 1: Collect Materials

Wood (I used plywood) of any size (I used 40 x 40 x 1 cm)
Yarn (add how much)
Glue (add type)
Scissors
Scroll saw
Sanding Machine
Sandpaper
Pencil
Eraser
Ruler
Extra decor of your choice

Step 2: Outline & Cut the Wood

Using a pencil and, if necessary, a ruler and eraser, draw the outline of the letter you want onto your piece of wood. When you are happy with the result, you can start cutting it out using the scroll saw. It is important to tie your hair back (if you have long hair) and to be careful when using this saw as it can be dangerous. Also, wear goggles. Cut along the lines you have drawn onto the wood until the letter is the way you want it to be while pressing the wood down so that it stays stable. Then, sand it using a sanding machine if it is very rough, or sandpaper if there are minor uneven spots.

Step 3: Glue the Yarn

Now you can add some glue to the lower or top part of your letter. Carefully lay the yarn onto the edge of the letter and start wrapping it around the wood. You continue to add glue and wrap the letter until it is completely covered in yarn. If you want, you can use different colors or types of yarn. At the end glue pieces of yarn onto any sides of wood that are still visible.

Step 4: Decorate

Finally, you can glue the extra decoration onto your letter the way you like to. And that’s it! Now you are finished with your personalized room decor. You can hang it up onto a wall, lay it on a bookshelf, or place it anywhere else you want to.
