Dental care is very important for health, but while traveling you can't take care of teeth without a big toothbrush coming out your pocket and a tube of paste. In this instructable I use miswak(chew stick) head instead of artificial toothbrush bristles because of miswak's health properties you don't have use a toothpaste.Hence making it only one item you have to carry.See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/miswak for more information about miswak.

Because who wants to carry around big 'ol toothbrush and a tube of toothpaste when all they really need to keep on hand is a latex glove, a pair of scissors, an exacto knife, a hobby mat, one bottle of epoxy resin, one bottle of co-reactant hardener, and a small limb from a Salvadora persica tree.

How many times can you use it? It would kind of defeat the purpose if you had to carry a few around while traveling because you can only use it once. If you can use it 3-4 times then it might be worthwile. Definitely good to know, though. Great 'ible, otherwise.

You can use it for about 1 week , or untill it get dry,
there are also "Miswak holder" that keep miswak fresh longer. just make sure to cut off the the used part every day,

You can use up to 10 times lets say, depends how hard you brush, its just eventually the bristles fall out and wear, when that happens you need another one

Miswak is the historical teeth brush used by Arabs in the Arab peninsula more than 1400 years ago. it is also recommended by the Prophet Mohammad -PPBUH- for Muslims to use it several times a day especially when woke-up from sleep, before the prayer, and to get good mouth smell.- also it helps digesting proses as I read lately- .
it has many specifications better than brush and paste because it is natural.
where to get it? in the Arab world it is easy. in the USA and Europe it is more difficult I think. But if you know an Arab or a Muslim it should be easy for him to get you some Miswak sticks.
what is shown her is good when you are traveling, but for me I just carry the whole stick and use it until it is dry and pay a new one for around 25 cents.
thanks to the author of this instructables.
