Introduction: Power Battery Draining Devices With a Power Supply

About: I've been making Instructables since I was 13. Now, I mostly make videos of my projects, however I'm still active here, so don't hesitate to reach out! Sick with a deadly disease called DIY-itis!

These are some of my devices that I power and use with an outlet socket instead of batteries

If you want too see another one of these, I did this to my drill, this is a pretty complicated project, but if you are interested you can see it here

Step 1: The Remote of the Spy Tank Camera

This spy remote uses 4 AA batteries

4b X 1.5v = 6 VOLTS

I didn't have a 6 volt power supply but i did have a 6.7 volt power supply, So...

How do you turn 6.7 volts easily and quickly to 6?

I connected a diode that lowers the voltage by 0.7 VOLTS with the right polarity to the battery terminals,So, Now, I have a 6 VOLTS power supply and I don't have to waste any money on new batteries!

If you want to learn more about how to connect a diode here is a really helpful tutorial

I just want to say a quick thanks to "Ruslzplace" for a calculation mistake I made.

Step 2: Spy Tank

For this one, The procedure was way easier:

The spy tank works on 6 batteries

6b X 1.5v = 9 VOLTS

Luckily, I had a high amp 9 volt power supply in my collection so it wasn't a big problem

Step 3: By the Way

I have a box of extra power supplies I know I will use for future projects

I really recommend doing this

For those of you that are thinking "Oh, you can use rechargeable batteries!"

For stuff that uses batteries I use only rechargeable batteries, But even 3100 MAH batteries don't last long enough, And, If I want my gadgets to be portable I didn't cancel the option to use batteries, i soldered right to the battery terminals.

If you like these kind of projects, make sure to visit my Instructables page

And, if you have any questions or if you have any problems with the calculations, feel free to ask me in the comment section:)

This can also be really good for the baby beds (idk the name) that shake and play music because they always stay in the same place in the house

Please help save the environment by sharing this project with your friends and family!!!

Thanks :)
