Introduction: Prepare Delicious Chocolate Pudding

About: Hey, I'm Muhaimina! A Craftaholic person (or Witch if you may say!). Obsessed with swirls and polka dots... and Instructables is pretty much my second home! Follow my IG Blog https://www.instagram.com/the_craf…

This chocolate pudding is a regular in my house. The recipe is super simple to follow and the pudding turns out really yummy! The ingredients required for this pudding are usually available in every house (I guess!). Instead of using cocoa powder you can also use chocolate drink powder. And an alternative for the cardamom and cinnamon can be vanilla essence, this is to get rid of the raw smell of the eggs.

Anyways, enough talking... Grab all the ingredients as listed and prepare one!

Step 1: Ingredients Needed

To make this pudding you'll need:

  1. Egg - 2
  2. Liquid milk - 1 cup
  3. Sugar - half cup
  4. Cinnamon - 2
  5. Cardamom - 2
  6. Cocoa powder - quarter cup (or more if you want to).

Step 2: Beating Eggs and Milk

In a small bowl add the eggs and sugar. Beat the eggs and sugar in high speed until the mixture is light and fluffy.

Add the liquid milk, cardamom and cinnamon to the beaten eggs. Again beat the mixture until the milk is mixed evenly.

Step 3: Adding Cocoa Powder

Do not add all the cocoa powder at once.

Gradually add the cocoa powder to the batter and beat to mix.

This might take a while but keep beating until the mixture is light and all the powder is mixed thoroughly.

Step 4: Preparing Caramel Topping

Select a stainless steel pot or bowl for the pudding. This pot or bowl will shape the pudding, it has to be made of stainless steel and should also have an air tight cover.

Making the caramel topping is really fun but you'll have to be really quick in this step.

Sprinkle some sugar (1 tsp) in the stainless steel pot, make sure to cover the whole surface inside.

Put the pot on low flame and heat until the sugar starts to melt.

As soon as the sugar starts to melt and turns brown quickly take the pot off from the cooker.

caramel topping is ready.

Step 5: Steaming the Pudding

Pour the chocolate pudding batter in the caramel'ed pot. Put on the air tight cover.

Take another saucepan or pot bigger than the pudding's pot. There should be at least an inch gap between both pots when we keep the pudding's pot inside the saucepan.

Add water into the saucepan, the water layer shouldn't be more than 1 inch.

Bring the water to boil on medium heat.

Carefully place the puddings pot inside the saucepan, right in the center of it.

Keep the saucepan on low-medium heat for 20-25 minutes.

After 20-25 minutes the pudding should be ready. To check insert a in the middle of the pudding.

Turn off the cooker and allow it to cool down. Take the pot out carefully.

Step 6: Chocolate Pudding!

Turn the pot upside down on a flat plate to take out the pudding, it should come out easy. But still use a knife to trace the sides before taking the pudding out of the pot.

Keep the chocolate pudding in the refrigerator for an hour.

After the pudding cools down decorate the it as you want. I used cashew nuts and condensed milk.

Enjoy!
