Introduction: Recipe on a Jar

About: I'm a musician, crafter, dessert lover and proud grandma.

I love to receive homemade desserts as a gift on Christmas. But getting many treats the same night means I'll have to eat them the next week or they'll spoil. I'm particularly good at eating dessert, the only problem is that a week after there's nothing left. This gift is perfect for that, you'll be giving the ingredients for the cookies so that the receiver can bake them whenever she wants.

It's easy to make, looks nice and it's delicious.

Step 1: Put the Ingredients Inside the Jar.

The ingredients and materials we´ll need are:

  • A big mason jar
  • Napkins
  • One tag
  • One pen
  • Twine
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp cinamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3 cups quick oats
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Prepare the mason jar. Make sure you have a mason jar big enough to keep all the ingredients. It should be clean and completely dry. The slightest dampness will make the ingredients go bad. Just to make sure wipe it with a dry napkin.

Put the ingredients in this order: Oats, sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, chocolate chips. Between each layer push it with a spatula to pack it firmly. And level it.

Step 2: Make the Tag

On one side write the name of the lucky one who is getting this awesome gift. On the other side write the recipe: Chocolate chips and oats cookies -soften 1 cup of butter -add 2 eggs -add all the ingredient of the jar -place spoonfuls in tray with oil -bake at 180oC for 8 min for chewy cookies or for 11 min for crunchy cookies -once cooled, keep the cookies inside this jar.

Attach the tag to the jar with twine.

Step 3: Enjoy!

Isn´t it pretty? You won´t even need to wrap it! And once you taste the cookies you are going to like it even more.
