Resin Art may seem like an advanced form of art, but it is actually pretty simple and very fun! This Instructable will guide you through making your very own Resin design.

What you need:

ArtResin Epoxy Resin

A canvas of any size

Acrylic paint

Plastic cups

Popsicle sticks

Plastic bag/table cover

Latex gloves

Heat gun

Blow dryer

Step 1: Step 1: Gather Supplies and Measure

Gather all of your supplies before starting. With gloves on, pour equal amounts of resin and hardener into a mixing cup. Use https://www.artresin.com/pages/calculator to calculate how much resin to use depending on your canvas size.

Step 2: Step 2: Mix

Stir really well for at least 3 minutes. Scrape the sides and the bottom to make sure you’re being thorough (unmixed material will leave you with sticky spots that won’t cure). Once you put the resin and hardener together, you’ll have about 45 minutes of working time before the resin thickens and cures.

Step 3: Step 3: Pour

A. After making sure your piece is level, pour the resin over your work. It’ll start to level on its own, and you can spread it around into place. You’ll notice bubbles will begin to rise to the surface. Many of these will pop on their own, but you can also pop them yourself using a blow dryer on a low setting or using a heat gun.

B. Instead of pouring resin over a finished piece, you can mix the colors into the resin first, and create your artwork by pouring the colored resin over a blank canvas. You can "layer" colors like I did above by letting a layer dry and pouring the next color over it.

Step 4: Step 4: Wait + See the Finished Product

The resin needs to sit for several hours while it cures. In about 8 hours it will be tacky but you will be able to pour a second coat if you feel the resin did not spread thoroughly. In about 12 hours it will be dry to the touch. Within 24 hours it will be mostly cured. It will be fully cured within 72 hours. After you wait, you will see your beautiful Resin art!!
