Introduction: #SELFIE Mirror
The #SELFIE Mirror is a mirror modified to include a vinyl cutout of the hastag "SELFIE". It is really as simple as that. This solution was designed to handle most of your #SELFIE watermarking needs. With this simple IRL modification you can throw away all of your photo editing software. Well -- some of your photo editing software. Okay -- none of your photo editing software. At the very least it will save you the 30 seconds it takes to add #SELFIE to all of the countless selfies that you take. Over time those seconds add up to minutes, which in turn adds up to hours. You can use those hours for other important things like personal grooming or writing a memoir about how interesting you are. That is why making this mirror is important.
Step 1: Go Get Things
To make this all that is required is one of those square Stave Ikea mirrors and the attached #SELFIE stencil file.

Step 2: Transferring Vinyl Graphic
I used a vinyl cutter to put #SELFIE onto black adhesive vinyl. I then peeled away the background, and applied transfer tape to the positive. The transfer was then carefully positioned onto the mirror and peeled away to reveal the lettering.
If you don't have a vinyl cutter, you can print the file, and use the image outline to hand cut the lettering into black vinyl with a craft knife.
Alternately, you can use the image to create a stencil in cardstock with a craft knife, and spray paint it on.
Step 3: Well Hung
Attach a wire to the mounting brackets on the back of the picture, affix a hook to the wall and hang it up.
You are now ready for #SELFIE glory.

How did you do the white inlay on the black letters?

Text effects > Stroke
Use a White text and a black stroke to get the desired effect. A nice, bold font is suitable, like Impact or Arial black.

You could also make two stickers, a black one and a white one that is slightly smaller than the black. Stick the black one on, then place the white one over the top of the black, leaving only a thin line of the black showing.

unless you have ocd

No, the vinyl stickers shown during assembly are all black, so I suspect a step was left out on how they get the white on top, you would either have to do each letter separately or be very accurate with the spacing to make one sheet.

well it says he used a vinyl cutter to make the #selfie and then transferred it to the mirror.
I would say using photoshop to make the stroke effect and then print onto transfer paper > then cutout excess

I wonder often why people just do not use the self timer and set the phone down. Oh yeah, I forgot, apples do not do that.
Great quick instructable. I am still at a loss to understand the incessant need to take ones own photo and plaster it all over the web. Narcissism escapes me.

Thank you for the thoughtful insight, I agree with whole heartedly.

An added benefit is you are using the better external camera to take the photo than the internal (screen side) camera. They also make some great apps that will come with a timer.

That selfie mirror image is how one sees oneself ,but the reverse of what other people see.Is this significant?

Nice work but do you really worry about seconds adding up to hours to take a selfie? I prefer to use the timer!

Oh, my word, there are so many people in these photos that I do not recognise!
You need* to add notes so we know who is who!
