Secret Compartment in Fake Plant

Are you looking for a place to hide your house key other than the well-known under-the-mat?

Looking for a place to hide money or other valuables in a concealed place?

The fake plant secret compartment is the perfect place to hide your special belongings.

All you need are a few simple materials

Supplies

You will need:

- Fake Plant/Leaves (You can even make one!)

- Hot Glue Gun

- Exacto Knife

- A Container

- The Item you are Hiding (Your Valuables)

Step 1: Find or Make a Fake Plant

In order for you to disguise your secret compartment, you will need a fake plant.

You can make these plants out of clay, cardboard, felt, etc.

I found my fake plant from part of a decorative flower.

You don't need a large plant, all you need is part of a plant.

Step 2: Make a Hole in Your Container

In order to hide your item, you will need to make a hole in the container you are using.

Take any size container, preferably one that can hold the object you are hiding.

Make a hole in the lid using an Exacto knife.

The hole has to be big enough to hold the stem of the plant.

Step 3: Glue Your Fake Plant Into the Hole

Next, take your hot glue gun and glue the fake plant's stem in the hole.

Make sure the plant is nice and secure, so it doesn't break or fall out.

Step 4: Place Your Belongings Into the Container

Now that you have set up the container, place the item that you are intending on hiding, inside the container.

Such items can be a spare house key or some money.

Step 5: Hide Your Secret Compartment!

Last but least, it is time to hide your container!

Make sure to hide your container where it will blend in most. Hide your container next to some plants, so it's not very obvious.

Dig up the area where you are hiding your secret compartment. Cover up the container with soil, only the fake plant should be showing.

In one picture, I added two more leaves to the stem, to make it more realistic.

This was so realistic that no one suspected a thing!
