Introduction: Simple Coco-Banana Tea Sandwiches

These small, bite-sized wonders are great as a snack or with a cold drink! I love their dainty appearance and yummy flavor. I made these tiny sandwiches with only a few ingredients, and a small amount of time, and so can you!

Supplies

1/2-1 Banana, Nutella, Peanut Butter, Chocolate Chips and/or Cashews

2 Bowls, a Knife, a Cutting Board, a cup (optional) and a Plate for serving.

Step 1: Arrange Your Supplies

Gather your Banana, Nutella, Peanut Butter, Chocolate Chips/Cashews, Knife, Cutting Board, and Bowls.

Step 2: Peel and Slice the Bananas

I used about 3/4s of a large banana: any amount works, depending on how many sandwiches you intend to make. I also cut them about 1/2 an inch wide. When you are done, place in the second bowl (the smaller one contained the coco chips and nuts).

Note: You may want to chill your ingredients before constructing the sandwiches, as it keeps everything from getting too soft and sliding around.

Step 3: Spread the Fillings on the Banana Disks

Spread your yummy fillings on the banana disks. I didn't include any exact measurements on how much peanut butter and Nutella to use because it varies depending on personal preference. Use enough to enhance the flavor of the sandwich, but not so much that you cannot taste the bananas.

Step 4: Add the Tiny Toppings

Add the chocolate chips and cashews. You can use as much as you like, but I only used one of each. I like to include only a few of the toppings so that they do not overpower everything else. The cashews could be substituted for anything: peanuts, almonds, granola, bits of fruit, etc. This is important to remember because a lot of people have nut allergies.

Note: You may want to place the chocolate chips so that the flat side faces upward and the pointy side is stuck into the fillings. This will help you when you put the last banana on top: you will have a flat surface.

Step 5: Assemble Tea Sandwiches

Put another banana disk on top of the fillings. Press down onto the sticky Nutella/peanut butter to ensure that the two sides stick together.

Step 6: Finish!

You can chill the sandwiches and save them for later, but the bananas might become oxidized. Best when enjoyed right away with a warm drink like coffee, or a cold drink like lemonade! Enjoy!
