Introduction: Simple Rubber Band Arts

About: Hi! I'm Wilson, I'm from Indonesia but I'm studying in Australia for now.
This is a traditional art, well.. Not really traditional.. Using rubber band to form shapes- by twisting, pull, etc. Children usually like this art, because it's simple and easy. This art is different with the Ayatori art, Ayatori arts are using strings not rubber bands. This is really popular in Indonesian school, most of children usually can make this art. And I'm going to share it to you.(Thanks to my friend, Daniel Chan who taught me those arts, I'll post more if he finds more shapes.)

Step 1: : Materials

Of course! Rubber Bands! I suggest not to use new rubber band, because it's really hard to stretch it. Used rubber band will easier to stretch

Step 2: : Wish a Star

Use your left hand. Put the rubber band on your thumb and your index finger. Pull the first rubber line. Twist it and put it on your pinky. Pull the rubber line from below with your right index finger. Pull the next rubber line with your right middle finger. And there you go! You got a star!

Step 3: : Transform It!

From the star, release your left index finger and you get an X mark! Merge your middle finger with your index finger, you get a V mark! Carefully, with your index finger pull out the rubber line and you get a Y mark!

Step 4: : Batmobile to Rocket

Use your left hand. Put the rubber band on your index, middle and ring finger. Insert your right index and middle finger between your index, middle and ring finger from below (look the picture). Flatten your finger, so each of your finger is tied by the rubber. Curl all your fingers. And pull, and you got a Batmobile! (Well, it's not similar, but you got the idea, right?). Merge the rubber on your middle finger to your index finger, and you got a rocket!

Step 5: : Hexagonal Window

This one is created by my friend, Daniel Chan. This one using two rubber bands, it's okay using different color. First, place the rubber band on both of you pinky fingers. Put the second rubber band in front of the first rubber. Stretch it, and pull it backward. Insert both of your thumb on the second rubber. Then insert your thumb on the first rubber (Look at the Picture). Release your thumb from the second rubber (move your thumb backward). Clap your hands, rub. Then open. (Sorry for the bad pics, My sister can't really take a good pic.)
