Introduction: Soap Holder

I am fond of 3D printing and computer modelling. A few days ago I noticed my battered soap dish. I thought it was time for me to exchange it for a new one but did I have to purchase it? I quickly ran to my computer. Subsequently, I opened SketchUp and started designing.I would like to show you the whole process, which will inspire you to create your very own soap dish.

-Slicing software for a 3D model (For example Cura)

Step 1: 3D Design

I designed my model in SketchUp Make 2017 and it took me about half an hour. Below I attach files to download in STL format. The model was divided into two parts. The first part is the base of the soap dish and the second part is the drainer. I use a SketchUp extension to generate STL file. This extension name is „STL Import & Export”

Step 2: Slicing and 3D Printing

I used the Cura slicer to cut the model. All parts have been designed for users of standard printers. I recommend printing each part separately. I used a standard nozzle (0.4mm).
I set infill to 60 percent I also included print with supports. I recommend printing the soap dish from PET-G. Alsow I, set nozzle and bed temperature to 230 and 70 degrees Celsius, respectively. You can choose any filament color.

All parts of the model were printed on an Ender 3 printer.

Step 3: Ready for Use

Assembling the entire model is very simple.

First of all, you have to remove the support created during printing. Moreover, you can polish your dish soap with sandpaper.
The soap dish is ready to be placed in the bathroom.
