Introduction: Strawberry Bread

In this instructable, I will show you how to make Strawberry Bread.

Step 1: Ingredients

For this recipe, you will need:

1 1/2 c strawberries

1 tbsp flour & 2 c flour

1/2 tsp salt

3/4 c sugar

2 tsp vanilla

1/4 c light brown sugar

1 tsp baking soda

1 c buttermilk

1 egg

1/3 c vegetable oil

Step 2: Wash Your Strawberries If You Must.

First step is to wash and dry the strawberries.

Step 3: It's Choppin' Time

Now, cut the strawberries into small pieces.

Step 4: Little Bit of Flour Power

Put the strawberries in a sealed baggie with 1 tbsp of flour and shake it up to coat them.

Step 5: First Bowl

In a bowl, combine the flour, baking soda and salt.

Step 6: 2nd Bowl

In another bowl, combine the egg with both of the sugars.

Step 7: Still in the 2nd Bowl

Now add buttermilk, oil and vanilla to the egg mixture and mix thoroughly.

Step 8: All One Big Happy Bowl

Combine both of the mixtures together.

Step 9: Bring Out Your Strawberries

Fold the strawberries into the mixture.

Step 10: Almost There.

Spray the bread pan with nonstick cooking spray, pour in your batter and cover with aluminum foil.

Step 11: Bake!

Bake for 30 minutes in an oven that's been preheated to 350°.

Then, remove the aluminum foil and bake for an additional 20-30 minutes, until the bread is done (test it with the toothpick/ fork sticking in, coming out clean method)

Step 12: Cool It!

Remove from the oven and cool on a wire rack.

You can STOP! right here if you want, and have awesome strawberry bread, but if you want awesome strawberry bread with icing, stick around.

Step 13: Icing

To make the icing, you need

1 c powdered sugar

1/2 tsp vanilla

2 tbsp milk (maybe a little more)

Step 14: Just One Bowl Will Do.

Mix everything together.

Step 15: If It's Too Thick

If it's not the consistency you are wanting...add VERY LITTLE milk at a time until it is.

Step 16: Cover It Up & Enjoy!
