Sugru Magnet Hooks

I made these 3D printed lanterns that I designed in Sketchup and was thinking of a good way to hang them up. In our makerspace we have steel beams that run across our ceiling so I threw together a few magnets and some Sugru to make the perfect mounting hooks.

Step 1:

I used one packet of Sugru and a magnet. I bought a few different packs of magnets from Home Depot. Form the Sugru around the magnet until you end up with something that resembles a Hershey Kiss. The Sugru should not cover the base of the magnet.

Step 2: Form the Hook

Carefully bend the top of the Hershey Kiss into a little hook and let dry overnight.

Step 3:

And hang your lantern!
