Have your summer hairstyles become routine? Miss Sarcastic and bookworm11 have come together to create a Side-Swept French Braid, a great way to rejuvenate your summer look. It is extremely versatile and will make you look fresh as a daisy.

Step 1: Make Like a Banana and Split!

For this hairstyle your hair can be wet or dry but it will affect the outcome of the style. A day or two old hair is fine as well. After brushing out the tangles in your hair, take about an inch of hair from your part, at the front of your head. It shouldn't matter where your part is but the model's hair part is deep, to the arch of her left eyebrow. Now separate your inch of hair into three even parts.

Step 2: This Is Not for the Faint-Hearted

If you already know how to french braid skip to Step 4. If you are absolutely clueless on french braiding, this is the place to be. We will call the three, even pieces of hair left, middle, and right. First, you take the RIGHT strand and cross it OVER the MIDDLE strand. Now the RIGHT strand is in the MIDDLE and your MIDDLE strand is on the RIGHT. We'll recalibrate and re-lable the same picture to where the strands should be now, from left to right, left, middle, right.

Step 3: And So It Goes

Now cross the MIDDLE over the LEFT. Then grab about an inch of hair that is close to your right strand, combine it with the RIGHT strand, and cross those two combined strands over the MIDDLE. So the whole system is right over middle, left over middle, right over middle and so forth. As you're crossing the right and left strands over the middle make sure to add more hair to the strands.

Step 4: Almost There!

French braid down the side of your head to the nape of your neck, taking hair from the same side of your part. Then start incorporating hair from the other side of your part, from the front of your head. By the time you have all of your hair included in your three strands, the french braid should have trailed down one side of your head to the other. Then normally braid the three strands and put an elastic around the tail.

Step 5: Pin and Accessorize!

To add your own personal flare to this style feel free to add flowers, bows, and ribbons. Tip: You can tie a ribbon or bow around the elastic on the tail of the braid for a cute style. Have fun experimenting and making this hairstyle your own!
