Introduction: The Convenience Bottle

Water is something really simple, yet hard for people to keep up with. We want people to drink water when it's necessary for them and to keep track of how much water they drank. We also want people to pay attention to one of the biggest problems today, the environment. The use of plastic has gone up in the past decade as people aren't careful of all the plastic water bottles they buy and use. Not only are they bad for the environment, but it's bad for your wallet. As you buy more and more plastic over time, you start to notice how much it adds up to financially.

Supplies

  • reusable water bottle
  • faux leather fabric
  • sewing needle
  • thread
  • watch
  • outdoor flashlight / lamp
  • 3D printed component
  • glue
  • velcro
  • batteries
  • nail polish / anything to paint with

Step 1: The Lamp

The first step is to take apart an outdoor lamp to get a separate piece of light that you can connect to the water bottle. Then, use a strong glue it to the bottom, like the picture shows. This creates some light to the water, making it fun but also effective in how you drink water. The light creates attention to your eyes, making it easier to remember to drink water.

Step 2: The Leather Grip

Use a regular and simple running stitch around the water bottle to create a comfortable size for the grip around the bottle. Then, stitch the two lugs of the watch onto the grip using the same running stitch. You may have to take apart the watch and remove the straps to get just the watch.

The watch is important because you can remind yourself drink every hour, if possible.

Step 3: The Logo

Adding a logo to your water bottle customizes it and is a fun thing to add. We used a 3D printer to print out a circular object to use of the logo. Then we decorated it with some nail polish and glued it on to the bottle
