Introduction: The Destroyer Atlantian
Wooden Sword. Named after the sword from Conan the Barbarian.
Step 1: Forging the Blade
I wasn't originally going to make this an instructable so the beginning is lacking in pictures. Anyways, the blade is made from a scrap 2x4 ripped at roughly a 30° angle. It took many tries to make it look right. Once I had the blade right I hand planned the tip and handle. I carved the guard out of a scrap piece of 4x4. And spray pained the silver and gold separately.
Step 2: Priming the Antlers
I primed the antlers for painting with 4 coats of primer, the antlers really sucked in the primer.
Step 3: Red Paint
Once the primer was dry I painted the antlers red.
Step 4: Black Paint
Added in some black paint.
Step 5: Gold Paint
Finished the antlers off with some gold paint. I was going for a medieval mystical creature look. I think I pulled it off.
Step 6: Mount
Picked this up at a store and painted it to match the project.
Step 7: Finished
I didn't take any pictures of when I wrapped the handle up, it's a soft piece of leather with leather cording and brass tacks. Once all the parts were finished I screwed them all together and gave the sword one last paint job to tie the whole project together.

This looks awesome. I love the way you did the antlers. That's just a really awesome sword hanger.
