Introduction: The Magnifier Macro Lens

Make your own macro lens out of a magnifier instead of paying hundreds of dollars/euros for a real one. And play around with the very short depth of focus.

Step 1: Step 1

You need a piece of (preferable black) paper, scissors, duct tape and a magnifier.

Step 2: Step 2

Roll up the paper and make a tube (about 2 inches/5 centimeter long) out of it that fits on top of your normal lens. Make sure the other end is big enough for the magnifier. Stick it together with the duct tape and put the magnifier on top. Stick the whole thing on top of your normal lens with the duct tape. Make sure you're still able to adjust the focus of your normal lens, so tape it carefully.
