In this instructable I will show you how to disable someones internet temporally.

Please note that I am not responsible for anything that may go wrong with this prank. (Including suing or jail time.)

That being said, this is a very easy prank to fix, since most troubleshooting programs built into the system will detect this problem, so it will probably only work on people who know nothing about computers.

Step 1: Open Device Manager

First we will need to open device manager. For that we need to open the system properties menu. To do that, press the Windows key (next to "control" and "alt") and the "Pause/Break" key together (if your pause and break key are separated on your keyboard, use the pause key).

On Vista and 7, on the left hand side of the window you will see a link for device manager. Click that.

On XP, click the tab that says "Hardware", click that and then find and click "Device Manager".

Step 2: Disable All Network Adapters

Now that you are in device manager, expand the network adapters. Right click on each of the adapters and select "disable". You will get a message saying that it will cause the adapter to stop functioning and are you sure you really want to do that. Of course we do for this prank (don't worry, it's very easy to fix... assuming you don't click "uninstall"... that's a little harder to fix), so click "yes".

Step 3: Cover Your Steps

Now close out of all of the windows and put the computer back the way you found it so that your victim doesn't suspect anything.

When your victim tries to access the internet they will not be able to connect to anything. Sit back and watch the frustration! :)

To repair their computer, just open up Device Manager, right click their adapters and click "enable".
