Introduction: Tracing Table
I was working on a design for a t-shirt and I needed a tracing table, so I made one out of household materials. This is useful and easy to set up and take down
Step 1: Materials
For this project you will need:
- a glass baking pan
- a light: you can use a book light or electric candle, they have some at the dollar tree
- 2 to 4 plastic cups
- tape
- a printed image
- a blank piece of copy paper or whatever you need to trace the image on to

Step 2: Arranging the Cups
Arrange the cups in the shape of your baking pan. You can place them in a diagonal line, or if the pan is too heavy, you can place them in a rectangle or square.
Step 3: Placing the Glass
Carefully place the pan over the cups.
Step 4: Setting Up the Light
Slide the light or candle under the pan. The lamp in the photo has a flexible neck. If the light is unsteady use tape to secure it.
Step 5: Arranging the Paper
Turn on your light source and place the image onto the pan. Next, place the blank sheet on top of the image. You should see the image through the paper. If you are having trouble seeing you can darken the room.
Step 6: Trace!
When the paper is arranged, you can trace the image!
