Introduction: UP3 Knex Pistol
The latest in a long series of reliable, tried and tested, single shot knex pistols.
The UP3 is simpler, thinner, sturdier, and requires less parts than it's predecessor with no change to it's function or range.
This is my choice battle weapon.
Fires yellow rods 45 feet. Holds one elastic.

pics 8-10: is the black thing under the blue clip just before the 8 blue spacers a ball socket?

Yes.

yeah... i found out my self simply by inserting a grey rod in the back and seeing that it reaches exactly up there to clip in. nice gun, by the way. shoots 40 feet, no problem. relatively accurate, too.

All right. And thanks. The best thing about it is that if you use it for a long time you'll notice the reliability is better than any other gun out there. The elastics and tape last months because of the design, the trigger won't slip, it won't misfire, pieces won't break off, etc... It's reliability is it's best feature.

Yup lol. Also, i like the fact you can clip the bullet in before you take back the ram...

Sorry about the lack of labeling. I just added a note to it.

how do you add pieces like hinges, blue clips, ball joints etc. to mlcad? and how do you permanently keep a part, for instance, the Y-connector that you showed how to make, how do you save it as a part?

This is very neat. I have had no experience with knex at all. I was curious if this would be strong enough to pull string along with the bullet. If so, about how far do you think it would shoot with the string? Thanks.

Are you suggesting attaching one end of a string to the gun and the other to the bullet so that you could pull the bullet back in?
In any case, I'd suggest the UP2 because it can handle at least double the elastics that the UP3 can. That'll give you the power you're looking for if you need it.

Here's mine. As you can see I changed around the back the stabilize the rubber bands. This allows a grey rod, instead of a strong black rod, to be used. People usually have more of these, so more pistols could be built. I fixed the trigger from breaking by taping it first of all (electrical tape works best, I ended up switching it), and switched the red connector to a green one. To do this, I had to remove the small metallic blue connector. All in all, it's a great gun, and shoots 45 to 50 feet with three strands of two #32's tied together, and a doubled #32 on the trigger.

Cool, glad you like it. I only put one elastic on though, so mine didn't need the tape or stabilizers.

When I put one elastic on, the firing pin wouldn't even go forward because of the metallic blue piece on it. It is worth having it though, since the firing pin doesn't accidentally come out. You probably have better rubber bands. But it's definitely the best one in the series, keep up the good work!

Nice gun. good range, too. I don't understand why some people are against the trigger- it seems fine to me. BTW, how come everyone shoots knex rods? I prefer airsoft ammo by far. But great gun- nice looks and everything.

The UP2 was better. This has a BK trigger that can easily break. Also it blocks a bit too far forward.
