Introduction: Unique Kids Boots

I live in a remote community where a lot of kids have the same footwear. This is my idea to make my boys boots unique and easy to find.

Step 1: Materials

  • Boots
  • Ribbon
  • Sewing machine
  • Scissors
  • Pins

Step 2: Choosing the Ribbon

Chose a bright coloured ribbon that will stand out. I chose a colour that would coordinate with my kids winter jackets.

Cut the ribbon to fit around the hole in the top of the boot, making sure you have extra to fold under to prevent the ribbon from fraying.

Step 3: Sewing

Wrap the ribbon around the boot folding under the ends and pin in place.

Sew the ribbon into place. The boots were soft enough that I was able to use my sewing machine.

Step 4: Finished

Voila! You have a pair of easily recognisable boots for your kids that look a little different from everyone else and coordinate with their coat.
