Necklace / Bracelet - 2 in 1 Combo (Unisex)

Have you ever spend premium dollars on a necklace and bracelet which claim to be pure 100% leather only to find out that what you got was pleather? (100% cheap plastic.)

It is very easy to make your own real 100% leather necklace and bracelets. In this "instructable" I'll show you how to make a 2 in 1 combo unisex leather necklace and bracelet.

Step 1: What You'll Need:

1 - Spool of 100% leather cord (this one is made in India and has a thickness of 1/10 of an inch or about 2mm) ~$11

1 - Pack of 3 "Cousin Cord Ends." (These are model # AJM84011082) ~$4

1 - Heavy Duty Utility Knife

1 - "5 minute" epoxy glue.

1 - Piece of spare cardboard (to mix your epoxy glue on)

2 - Toothpicks (to apply the epoxy glue)

Step 2: Measure the Leather Cord...

Open the spool of leather (dispose the little Silica Gel pack)

Measure 20.5 inches of cord... cut it with the utility knife.

Now, take your piece of cord and measure another piece of cord of the same size and cut it.

You should now have 2 pieces of 20.5 inch cord...

> Check the cord for any imperfections or dust. You might need to wipe it clean with a microfiber cloth.

Step 3: Get the "Cord Ends" Ready

The pack of "Cord Ends" that I got came with the little extension chains on one end. I really don't need the extension, so, I took it off.

As you can see from the second photo, you can fit 2 cords in the clasp without problems. This is great there is no need for modifying the leather cord.

Step 4: Mix Your 5 Minute Epoxy and Apply

So, squeeze some of the epoxy on your scrap cardboard and mix it for about 1 minute with the toothpick.

Use the toothpick to apply some into the "Cord End." That is the end of the clasp that connects to the leather cord.

Now take both leather cords and push them into the "Cord End." Do the same with the other side...

You have to work fast because you only have "5 minutes."

Let it dry for 24 hours just to make sure...The epoxy dries clean and clear

Step 5: Final Product...

You can wear it as a necklace or as a bracelet.

You can also add a pendant such as in the first picture of the introduction. I got the metal pendant from "Bico Australia."
