Introduction: Walking Dead Cupcakes (Vegan)

These walking dead cupcakes are a perfect treat for Halloween. They look awesome. They taste great and are 100% vegan friendly.


Cupcake Ingredients

250 ml Dairy Free Milk

100g / 0.4 cup Castor sugar

1/2 cup of oil (sunflower, canola, coconut etc)

1 tsp cider vinegar

160g plain flour (all purpose flour)

3/4 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp baking powder

40g cocoa powder

Vanilla Butter Icing Ingredients

300g / 1.2 cups icing sugar

100g / 0.4 cups vegan margarine or butter

1 tsp vanilla extract

5 to 10 drops of black food dye

Only add cocoa powder if you want chocolate flavoured icing, but the dye may change to a muddy grey colour.

Cup Cake Directions

Mix your wet ingredients together in a bowl.

In another bowl, sift and mix your dry ingredients together.

Add the wet to the dry ingredients and mix together.

Fill up your cup cake cases 3/4 way full.

Bake on the middle shelf of the oven for 15 minutes (until a cocktail stick comes out clean).

Vanilla Butter Icing Directions

Cream your margarine (or butter) until it softens a little.

Slowly add in the icing sugar, until fully combined.

Add in 5 to 10 drops of the black food dye and stir.

Put the butter icing in a piping bag and ice your cupcakes.

Now you can decorate your cupcakes. I used edible rice paper graves and zombies.
