Introduction: Water Color Technique for Your (Wedding) Cake

About: Hi! I am Klinong, that is how my loving family calls me, except my brother, he calls me Krinyol, as I have silly curly hair :) I love Instructables for forever now, especially for the contests ha-ha!, but I …

I water-colored my cake the first time back in 2008/9, but this technique seems trending again these days. It is super easy to do (unless you want to make it extravaganza like a real painter does) and only require a little effort, even a beginner in cake decorating can do it ^_^

Step 1: Materials and Method

Gel food coloring of your choice

Sponge or paint brush

Clear vodka

Cake covered with fondant

Dilute a little gel food coloring in vodka

With sponge or paint brush, start dabbing/brushing a little here and there

With a clean sponge/paint brush, soak/dab a little in vodka, stroke here and there like you would do with water color paint

To make cake prettier, add cake topper, edible flowers, pearls/dragees, edible gold/silver etc (mine here is with wafer paper)

And your cake is dressed ;-)
