Purdue Credential Management for Windows

Many people have trouble connecting to Printers and Network drives even with correct instructions. The most common reason for this is that your windows has your old Purdue career account credentials saved somewhere on your computer and is having trouble connecting to said services.

These are instructions to remove these old credentials.

This guide works for Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 (though this guide is based on windows 8.1).

Note: Purdue iTAP recommends that you do not save your credential to your personal computer for this very reason. I personally save it anyway, but be aware that you will need to go through these steps when you update your Purdue Career Account password.

Step 1: Find "Credential Manager"

The easiest way to find your credentials is to type "Windows credential manager" on your start screen in the search box, and Windows will find it for you.

Step 2: Locate Your Credentials

Locate your credentials. If you are having issues with Purdue services, you probably have old credentials saved up, so look for anything Purdue related.

Step 3: Expand the Credentials

Expand the credentials to see all the options available. You can edit or remove those credentials. Press remove to get rid of them.

Note: It is much easier to remove your old credentials and add your new ones than it is to go in and edit your old ones.

Step 4: Confirm Your Action With Windows

Windows will ask if you are sure about deleting your credentials. (Hint: If you are reading this, then your answer is probably yes.)

Step 5: Voila

You can now go to our other instructions and set your computer up with all the services that Purdue is offering.
