Yarn Wall Hang

Materials List: - wooden dowel - ball of yarn - ruler - scissors - cardboard piece

Steps:

1. Sketch it out- this first step is optional, but I recommend doing it because it will help and act as a guide when you begin working with the yarns --- I used 7 yarn pieces across and 14 tassels

2. Cut out the yarn pieces

Measurements I used *from left to right* 18" 22" 28" 34" 28" 22" 18"

3. Covering the dowel: knot one end of your yarn from the yarn ball onto one end of your dowel and use your thumb to hold the yarn in place as you spin around the dowel with your right hand ----or left if you are a blessed lefty!----Once you are at the other end of the dowel and have completely covered it, tie a knot to stabilize the yarn and cut off any excess yarn.

4. Tie on the yarn pieces you measured in step 2.

5. Making the tassels: wrap your yarn from your yarn ball around the piece of cardboard length wise ****keep in mind that the length of your cardboard determines the length of your tassels**** I spun the yarn around the cardboard 16 times each tassel for a 'fuller' look.

One you are done wrapping the yarn around, take the end of the yarn and loop it underneath the yarns and knot it by pulling up ****best visual of this is at 6:40

After you knot the top, cut of bottom yarns across to separate the tassel from the cardboard. Tie the knotted end of the yarn around the top of the tassel to create the "ball" at the top of the tassel

6. Once ALL your tassels are made, attach them to the yarn pieces you attached to the dowel in step 4.

7.LAST STEP YAY!!: cut out 7 more yarn pieces at 15" length ----if you are doing the same measurements as me---- and attach the rest of your tassels to them

8. Tie on those "stringed tassels" from step 7 on to the other tassels that are already attached to the dowel
