Introduction: Zombie Undead Shoes

About: Retired English/Theater Teacher

I was inspired by other instructables for putting designs on shoes.  Such as https://www.instructables.com/id/Personalize-Shoes-with-Acrylic/ and https://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-make-a-pair-of-converse-your-own/ but not being a very good artist I used a stencil created with Printmaster.  I located images from the internet and altered them to create black images against rising moons.

Step 1:

Materials, besides my no name high tops, include white acrylic paint with a brush, scissors, and large labels.  I used 3 1/2" x 4" which fit perfectly on the shoes.  I believe black boots would work just as well if not better.  Total cost is under $10, mostly for the paint and labels I didn't have.  Now I've got plenty.

Step 2:

Here are the two images I created from drawings I found on the internet.  Probably illegal if I were to sell them commercially, but fun for this project.  My camera is at an angle so they don't appear round.

Step 3:

I cut out the images that will be black on the shoe as well as the circle of the moon.  My old shoe had some creases in the canvas side which made the application difficult, but I was careful to smooth the edges where the paint will be applied.

Step 4:

As I applied the paint I was careful not to brush the paint towards the stencil to prevent pushing the paint under the sticky label.

Step 5:

The larger design came out better and I added more paint which is absorbed by the canvas fabric.

Step 6:

My used laces needed cleaning, but I Iook forward to using some of the ibles for lacing shoes like:
